Jack of Cups

  • The Flea Theater 20 Thomas St, New York, NY (map)

Mainstage, 2019

Many years from now — long after The Flood That Drowned the World — a stranger, queerer, lovinger world has sprouted from the rubble and ruins. Once a year, the many communities of this new world become one, gathering on a barren island for the Remembrance Festival. Amidst the games and food and drink, the sharing of knowledge and the telling of Big Stories, they are visited by the mysterious legendary wanderer Jack of Cups. Jack arrives to tell the biggest Big Story these people have: their post-apocalyptic creation myth.

A solo play written and performed by EBP member and visionary storyteller Gabriel Rodriguez, JACK OF CUPS is an invitation to commune with a humanity broken and reborn — an urgent message from the ancient future.

After a series of preview performances in Hudson, NY in early May, Jack will return to NYC to share with us this dazzling, immersive storytelling experience — the mainstage production of our first full season!
