Ever heard of converting sexual energy to make electricity to power instruments? While, Yale School of Medicine Psychiatrist, turned full-time artist, Jerry Meyer appears a trustworthy source, his FANTASTICAL, Immersive Mixed Media Installation will lead you into a fools' paradise. Meyer is the vessel for his Great Grandfather's experiments; as well as the printed monograph by a curious historian, "Josephine Base". Base offers an "understanding" of grandpops' freaky toys and intentions, though, with a closer look at her writing, Josephine might be the perverted voyeur after all.
See for yourself: This piece will be shown at CONTEXT Art Miami from Nov. 29 - Dec. 4. This art fair can see crowds of up to 82,500 visitors over the 6-day period!
Also online forever here.
Meyer’s large installation and other works are on display at Denise Bibro Fine Art, Booth 104
Artist Bio: Jerry Meyer has always been curious about what is hidden beneath the surface, whether as young child taking his toys apart, as an adolescent fascinated by subways, as a practicing and teaching Psychiatrist and Psychoanalyst on the faculty of Yale University School of Medicine, and as a full-time visual artist whose aesthetic and sense of irony is informed by an awareness of unconscious wishes and conflicts. Jerry believes in the transformative power of art.
